A Sixties Extravaganza
27 April at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Turning the clock back to the 60’s
‘Hi de Hi’, will be the order of the day, as Cawthorne Band turns the clock back nearly 60 years, as they stage their 1960’s Extravaganza. The event is a real attempt to get away from the traditional band concert and a themed evening of fun is planned. The village hall will be decorated for a 1960’s party, and it is hoped that the audience will enter into the fun of the event and dig out their ‘gear’ from the 1960’s for a fashion parade. Leather jackets, flower power outfits, suede coats, mini skirts, blue suede shoes, Brylcream and back combed hair styles are all hoped to add to the fun.
‘We just hope that the aging mods and rockers don’t fight!’ conductor John Grinnell commented.
Other activities will include memories from photographs and video, a quiz and even some tastes of the food we used to enjoy back then. The event will be very informal, with seating limited to just 60 (therefore booking is strongly advised) to enable the audience to sit around tables and perhaps bring their own drinks to help the event go with a swing!
Add to this the Cawthorne Brass Band will be playing a selection of film, tv and chart topping hits from the period to jog memories. Overall a very different night of entertainment to savour.
Tickets available from Cawthorne Post Office, band members, or reserve tickets on the door via our contact form.
